Horoscope: Winter solstice could see one sign experiencing ‘old resentments’

An astrology expert has revealed which zodiac signs will face the biggest challenges following next week’s winter solstice. One particular sign may find themselves grappling with “old resentments” towards friends and family in the days leading up to Christmas.

The winter solstice falls on December 21, marking the shortest day of the year, after which daylight hours begin to lengthen. However, astrology specialists have cautioned certain signs to proceed carefully during this transitional period. As the zodiac shifts from Sagittarius to Capricorn, the focus turns towards finances and self-reflection. Experts suggest this period will act as a “reality check” for many before the new year begins in earnest.

Joanne Jones, an astrologer from Trusted Psychics, explained that the winter solstice encourages introspection and provides an opportunity to rebalance before January arrives. She said: “Every sign feels this energy differently, and it’s like nature’s way of reminding us what we need most.”

For those born under Aries (March 21 – April 19), Joanne predicted an immediate decline in motivation, urging them to embrace rather than resist the lethargic feeling. She suggested this rest was “probably needed weeks ago.”

For Taurus (April 20 – May20), Joanne cautions against falling into a rut, despite their natural affinity for the comfort brought by the winter solstice. She encourages Taureans to proceed with caution and strive to “figure out what – and who – genuinely supports you”.

Those born under Gemini (May 21 – June 20) are currently awash with social engagements, but Joanne emphasises the need for rest to prevent exhaustion. Geminis are advised to take a brief respite and assess their social energy levels before diving into the next event.

She disclosed that Cancerians (June 21 – July 22) are likely to experience the impact of the solstice more intensely than any other sign, with “old emotions” and grudges surfacing. Those with strained familial relationships may face a challenging Christmas, as the necessity to set boundaries becomes increasingly apparent.

Leos (July 23 – August 22) are counselled by Joanne to relish the slower pace after feeling disheartened by the scarcity of sunlight.

Meanwhile, Virgos (August 23 – September 22) are instructed to engage in an “honest conversation” with themselves this solstice, which could provide significant solutions to issues.

Libras (September 23 – October 22) are taken by surprise by the solstice as it illuminates areas where things may have spiralled out of control for the sign. This could be due to burnout, Joanne suggests, hence she advises slowing down to regain balance before 2026 commences.

Meanwhile, Scorpios (October 22 – November 21) are in for an intense winter solstice, as “old resentments” surrounding unresolved issues are likely to resurface. However, Joanne emphasises the importance of accepting rather than rejecting these feelings, as doing so will enable “one final release before the new year”.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21) may find the winter solstice challenging, as festivities give way to reality and one particular area of life will demand greater attention and effort.

In contrast, Capricorn (December 22 – January 19) is poised to flourish as a “burst of clarity” helps to reassess life’s priorities.

Aquarians (January 20 – February 18) will experience an especially imaginative solstice, though Joanne cautions them to stay connected with their emotions as logical thinking can take over.

As for Pisces (February 19 – March 20), this period may prove difficult and Joanne has urged them to safeguard their energy as “not everyone deserves access to it”.
