Spring is here, and that means summer isn’t far away. With those longer, hotter and brighter days comes a rapidly filling social calendar with events like weddings, races, garden parties, sun-soaked holidays and weekends away. With all that on the horizon, getting dressed shouldn’t feel complicated. A great dress does most of the work for you and it’s the easiest route to looking put-together without too much thought. The only thing you need to think about then is the accessories.

As a shopping editor (and a lifelong fashion obsessive), I spend a lot of time searching for the latest drops and deals from my favourite brands. Nobody’s Child is one retailer I return to often. The British label aims to design easy-to-wear pieces, often using responsibly sourced fabrics. It’s also become a favourite among celebrities like Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton.

The only thing that usually makes me hesitate is the price point—some of the newest dresses can cost upwards of £150. But right now, with up to 70% off in the sale, it feels like the perfect moment to invest in something special for the season ahead. The sale is full of dresses that work just as well for daytime plans as for dressed-up evenings, whether for nuptials in the British countryside or seaside dinners at golden hour.

So, I took on the challenge of digging through the sale to find five dresses that stand out, not just for their savings but for their versatility too.

Green Floral Frill Sleeve Layla Midi Dress – save 60%

Nobody's Child Green Floral Dress

The green floral print of this dress made it stand out to me instantly. It’s bright without being overwhelming, and can easily be dressed up or down. The soft V-neckline and fluttery sleeves are feminine and pretty, while subtle seams under the bust help define the waist without feeling restrictive.

By day, it would work well with a pair of slip-on sandals and a crossbody bag for a day out with friends or an ice cream in the park with the kids. Come evening, a pair of heels, a structured handbag (I’d go for a contrasting pink) and delicate gold jewellery transform it into a wedding-ready outfit.

The skirt falls loosely, so it shouldn’t be too clingy, and the light lining keeps it from being see-through and makes sure it is comfortable even on warmer days. Finished with a zip fastening and made from viscose, it’s practical too, both easy to wash and easy to wear.

Now reduced by 60%, it’s £34, down from £85, and currently available in sizes 4 to 18 (with 16 sold out at the time of writing).

One shopper shared: “Lovely colour and style, dress hangs very nicely and flatters the body.”

Another added that it “feels very comfortable” to wear.

Floral Satin One Shoulder Ellis Midi Dress – save 70%

There’s something about this dress that feels made for summer evenings abroad. The soft white base, scattered with delicate florals, is really pretty, while the satin finish adds just enough polish.

The one-shoulder design makes it feel modern and on-trend, revealing a hint of décolletage in an effortless, rather than overdone, way. The cut is relaxed, with a gently flared skirt that skims the body without clinging –ideal for warm nights when you want to feel put together but comfortable.

It may not be the obvious choice for a wedding, but dress codes are evolving, and the floral detailing makes it a bit more suitable as a guest. For holiday dinners, though, it feels spot on.

“Fits perfectly and hangs lovely,” said one buyer.

Made from viscose and machine washable, it’s practical, too. With 70% off, it’s now £27, reduced from £89, with sizes 6 to 18 available, though some are already running low.

Red Floral Josie Midi Dress – save 70%

For occasions that call for a little more coverage, this is an easy choice. The red floral print feels classic enough to be worn summer after summer, but eye-catching enough to make a statement.

A modest V-neckline keeps it suitable for more formal settings, while long, fluted sleeves add that femininity that Nobody’s Child is known for. At the back, a soft V-shape with a tie fastening is a pretty and stylish touch.

It’s particularly well-suited to race days or events with stricter dress codes, but it would work just as well for garden parties or as a wedding guest option. Paired with strappy heels and a simple clutch, it feels instantly complete.

Now £21, down from £61, it’s one of the strongest offers in the sale, available in sizes 4 to 18 with petite and regular lengths.

Black Polka Dot Long Sleeve Paris Mini Dress – save 49%

Polka dots may be having a moment again, but they never really disappear, and this dress leans into that timeless appeal. There’s a subtle nod to 60s style here, reworked in a way that feels on trend for 2026.

The round neckline is clean and flattering, making it easy to dress up or down. But it’s the back that gives it personality: a cut-out detail with a tie fastening.

The silhouette cinches gently at the waist before flaring out into a skirt with soft volume, thanks to a godet design that is designed to create movement as you walk. It’s a playfultouch which i LOVE.

Currently reduced from £69 to £35, it’s a piece you’ll reach for far beyond this season.

Burgundy Polka Dot Midi Dress – save 60%

If you prefer a little more coverage, this burgundy polka dot dress offers another take on the trend. The larger dot print, in tones of burgundy and pillbox red, is fun, while the satin-like finish elevates it for more formal settings.

The shape is classic and flattering: a round neckline, long sleeves, and an empire waist that falls into a floatier skirt. At the back, buttons lead down to a soft V-shape, adding a subtle detail.

This dress works just as well for weddings as it does for evening events when you want something understated but polished.

Now £30, reduced from £75, it’s a 60% saving.
